Calling Number Delivery
See the number calling before you answer the phone.
How it works:
When you receive a call, the number of the person calling you is shown on your Caller ID
display screen.
How to use:
| 1. |
When you receive a call, wait until your telephone completes the first ringing
signal. |
| 2. |
The telephone number of the person calling you will automatically
appear on your display screen. |
| 3. |
If you choose to answer the call, the number will remain on the screen until
you or the caller hangs up. |
Note:
- Subscription to Calling Number requires the lease or purchase of a
display telephone or an add-on display unit.
- If the letter "P" or "Private" appears on your
screen, the caller may have blocked the display of their number by pressing *67 (or
dialing 1167 on a rotary phone) before placing the call. You can choose whether or not to
answer the call
- If "unknown name," "unknown number," "out of
area," or "0" appears, the caller is in an area that does not support
Calling Number services.

Teen Service /
Distinctive Ringing
A special number for home or business use, FAX, computer, or
teens.
How it works:
You can get a special phone number that will ring your existing telephone line with a
special ring. This allows you to know when a call is for you, for your children, or for
any other purpose.
Interactions with Other Features
The distinctive ringing patterns of Teen Service are used with Call Waiting, so you can
determine whether or not to interrupt your current conversation to answer the incoming
call.
With Teen Service, Call Forwarding operates in one of two arrangements. Choose
which arrangement you want when you subscribe to Teen Service. The arrangements are:
- Both telephone numbers (the main and secondary) are forwarded when Call
Forwarding is activated. The telephone number to which you forward these calls does not
receive the distinctive ringing patterns.
Note:
- Although you have two telephone numbers assigned to your line, you have
just one line and only one conversation can be held at a time.

Blocking
(non-public)
Block your number from being displayed to others.
How it works:
By dialing a code before you place a call, you can prevent your phone number from
appearing on the Caller ID display of the person receiving your call.
How to use:
| 1. |
Lift the handset and listen for the dialtone. |
| 2. |
Press *67. (On a rotary phone, dial 1167.) |
| 3. |
Dial the number you're calling as usual. |
| 4. |
The person you've called will not be able to see your number
displayed on their telephone display screen. Instead, a "P" or
"Private" will be displayed. |
Notes:
- You must dial *67 before each call you place. Otherwise, your phone
number will be released to the person receiving your call.
- If you have requested Permanent Calling Number Blocking from your
telephone company, you do not need to dial a code to block your number each time. Your
number will always appear as "Private." To override Permanent Calling Number
Blocking (allow your number to be displayed) on an individual call, dial *82 before
placing the call.
